MILWAUKEE – Elgin Cook scored a career high 23 points in the return to his hometown, leading Oregon to a 87-68 win over BYU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
BYU took a 2-0 lead, but the Ducks never trailed after that. Oregon led 39-31 at halftime, and held a comfortable lead until BYU made 3 three-pointers in a 1:41 span midway through the second half to cut the Duck lead to 56-53.
Oregon dominated from there, and will now face Wisconsin on Saturday in the Round of 32. Oregon, who made it to the Sweet Sixteen last year, has now won NCAA Tournament games in back-to-back years for the first time in school history.
