PALO ALTO, Calif. — The Ducks aspirations of a national championship just reached a major road block, as #5 Stanford upset #3 Oregon, 26-20.
The Ducks got in their own way early, failing to convert on two red zone possessions in the first quarter. They trailed 17-0 at half. It was the first time the Ducks were shut out in the first half since 2009.
The Ducks made the game interesting, scoring 20 unanswered points. It just wasn’t enough. After they failed to convert an onside kick with about 2 minutes left, the Cardinal were able to run out the clock.
